Ci ritorneremo in primavera!
Susyun'altra fantastica visita
A simply beautiful place to stay again, to relax in, and to tour the Sorrentino peninsula from. Guglielmo is such a fabulous host, the best, and goes out of his way to try to ensure you make the most of and enjoy your holiday at Casale Villarena. We enjoyed so many different days including a relaxing start on arrival with a drink before a splash in the pool; a day to a meander down Via Cantone to the beach at Marina Cantone; a fabulous private boat trip to Capri arranged by Guglielmo and with Guglielmo at the helm, swimming in the clear blue sea off the Amalfi coast, dining on the boat, then pottering round Capri. Another day we shared a private tour of the Amalfi coastline taking in Amalfi, Positano and the wonderful more tranquil Ravello, including taking an extended traditional Italian lunch at a family restaurant in a smaller hillside village. Alternatively for a more strenuous day take a tour of Pompeii then Vesuvius or Ercolano. We even went shopping for those who need to take home a little of the Italian style. At the end of each day you can relax by the pool, savour a fine wine, then later enjoy a delicious, leisurely dinner in the restaurant, washed down with the homemade Limoncello, unless of course it's party night then dance the night away. You can even cook your own dinner if you take up the cooking class...fantastic fun Thoroughly recommended staying in this historic Casale Villarena with its beautiful traditional rooms/apartments and fabulous views set in a traditional small village. A place to escape from all the stress of your everyday life and soak up the warm Italian hospitality.
Sally"Amazing stay"
One word sums up Casale Villarena, fantastic! The accommodations, the views, Guglielmo and his staff , the wine and meals were all just amazing. The grounds and villas are beautifully maintained and impeccable. I have never stayed in a place where the host was so amazingly accommodating. Guglielmo even arranged a boat outing to Capri which was a fabulous 30 minute trip from the beach in Nerano. He treated us like royalty and my only complaint is that our stay was too short! Thank you for our amazing stay. We will be back!!
SaittaAnother successful visit
Our 4th visit and every bit as good as the last. The proprietor and staff are quite splendid and there is no stone unturned in their efforts to make sure you enjoy their hospitality. The location is quite stunning with lemon trees and well kept gardens with views over the sea and mountains. Access to Sorrento, Capri and the Amalfi coast can be attained by sea from the local seaside village or by road. There are three Michelin Star restaurants within driving distance but the food in the restaurant at the Casale Villarena should not be missed and to be honest the dining experience on the terrace restaurant is quite perfect. Like most people who come here we too will keep coming back.
Ian DrummondA true taste of Italy, fantastic staff, fantastic location, fantastic food. The perfect holiday retreat.
This was our third stay at Casale Vilarena. We chose it for our wedding in October 2013 and our party of 24 were treated like royalty for the entire stay. Guglielmo was the perfect host and his staff are excellent. When they say nothing is too much trouble, they mean it. So we went back for our first anniversary and nothing has changed. It's a great location and you will not find better food and wine anywhere on the Sorrentine Peninsula. We will be back again and again as the whole place is just beautiful. Thanks Casale Vilarena. See you soon.
DanielBeautiful villa
The situation of this beautiful villa is excellent for visiting the city of Sorrento and the isle of Capri and the Amalfi coast. The service is excellent, the staff exceptionally accomodating. The gardens are beautifully kept and it is a perfect place just to come to rest. We arrived late in the evening, very hungary and Guilliamo went out of his way to prepare a delicious meal for us. The breakfast was also lovely with quite a variety of foods. The apartment we had was large, the beds were comfortable and the area is very quiet. Even the church bells did not disturb our sleep. The kitchen is fully equipped making it very easy to prepare your own meal if you don't want to eat in the villla's restaurant. There is a swimming pool on the premises but for those who prefer swimming in the sea, the beach is very close by.
Trip Advisor Memberwonderful place
We stayed 6 days there with our 3 teenagers. 3 days in casa simi and 3 in La vetara. Guilliamo, the owner is a perfectionist and it shows in every detail: the garden, the wonderful restaurant, the perfect limonccelo, the cleanliness and perfect maintenance, and the helpful, friendly staff-particularly Maria Theresa and Antonio. La vetara is a real palace apartment, very spacious and beautiful with a perfect balcony overlooking the bay (you can watch the beautiful sunrise! For sunsets and Capri you have to drive 5 minutes to Termini or walk up to Mt. Costanzo-highly recommended). Casa simi is also very nice but smaller on 2 levels. Nerano is a small place away from the crowded touristic yet stunning areas of Sorrento and Amalfi. It is possible to travel around but take into account long winding roads, so it adds quite a bit of travel time. We came after seeing most attractions in that area so it was perfect. The beach is by far the best in the peninsula with pleasant pebbles and a choice of great restaurants. the prices are much more reasonable than in Positano and the quality is top. There are nice hikes to do. You can walk to 2 other beaches, one of which is the nature reserve. You can take a boat for the day (all the way to Amalfi or to Capri), and you are away from the constant traffic of Sorrento and Positano. We really had a most wonderful time and highly recommend the place. One small point- the beds are exceptionally hard. I found out only the last day that Guillamo has extra padding for those who prefer a softer bed if i knew from the start this would have been really perfect. Also for those who have sesitive sleep, the church bell is right above the casale and rings every half hour, day and night, surprisingly it didn't wake us up to often.
Rakefet LapidSimply The Best
From the moment our tour group from Quality Travel Solutions stepped into Casale Villarena, I felt like I was among friends. The way we were catered to by Guglielmo and his staff was way beyond typical. The amount of amazingly delicious and fresh food, wine and Limoncello, etc, which was included in our tour price, was worth every single euro. “G” even threw in some surprise toasts with Prosecco here and there. What a nice touch! When at the end of the trip, even with all the wonderful places we visited and things we did while there, it’s unanimous among all that one of our favorite things was our experience at Casale Villarena, that says a lot. One of the absolute best trips I’ve ever experienced!
AmandaAbsolute Perfection!!
Casale Villarena, Guglielmo, Mariateresa, Antonio and the rest of the staff far exceeded my already very high expectations!! I had visions of what the Amalfi Coast would be like, but nothing could have prepared me for the beauty, the service, the kindness, the attention to detail, the amazing food, and serenity that my friends and I experienced at the Casale Villarena. The photographs on Tripadvisor and Facebook do not do justice for this hotel and for the area. Guglielmo has done an amazing job renovating the rooms and the grounds and each morning, when walking down to breakfast, I had to stop and take in all the beauty of this paradise found. whether you are on a romantic getaway, traveling with family, or traveling with a group of friends, Casale Villarena has it all and they well see to it that you have a very memorable stay! Thank you for making this a vacation of a lifetime!!
LindaA Hidden Gem of a Place
Having been to Italy numerous times with so many places I've fallen in love with and plenty of fantastic experiences, it was a complete surprise to find that this latest trip has trumped them all. Quality Tour Solutions found and booked this hidden gem of a place with such a exceptional staff, Casale Villarena. From the owner, Guglielmo who took a personal lead in activities, menus and information, to the rest of his incredible, efficient and friendly staff who executed our every request with smiles and graciousness (Maria Teresa, Antonio, Rosa, Pietro (I know I’m leaving out some names)). They treated us like family and it was sad to leave after eight glorious days. As food and wine is what I live for, and Italian food being my favorite, let's start with that. From the delicious buffet breakfast with the freshest of ingredients (Guglielmo has his own garden and chicken coop) to the amazing two-three hour dinners, I ate and drank nonstop. Each night was a different offering from the antipasti to main to dessert, served with the fabulous local wines and capped off with homemade limoncello! For activities, G arranged tours to Pompei and Capri, dropped us off in Sorrento and Positano, took us on a boat ride and picnic (again amazing food and prosecco and wine), arranged a hike to Jeranto Bay with the highlight being a personal lunch cooked by his friends (the best meal of the trip) onsite there! G was so sweet--on the hike, one of our party was struggling (it's an intermediate hike) and he carried her backpack, found her a walking stick and slowed his pace to keep everyone going. In the evenings, there was Tarantella Dancing Lessons, Wine and Cheese Tasting, Live Music and a BBQ, and our own Personal Pizza night with seven different kinds of pizza all cooked by the amazing Rosa in an original pizza oven. With all of this bounty, it was topped off with personal touches. G and staff would start off each day's activities with handing out bottles of water and beach towels. One day my husband wasn't feeling well with an upset stomach, and Antonio provided a local remedy and the entire staff was very concerned. On our last day, G sent our tour group off with small bottles of olive oil as thank you gifts. I've only been home 3 days and already used all of it! Thank goodness I also bought several large bottles of his olive oil to keep me going! There was even a cute couple of cats (though they looked like kittens) who romped around the place and made it feel like a home not a hotel. We named them "Little G" and "Mid G" because we called Guglielmo, "Big G", as we struggled with the correct pronunciation of his name. I recommend this place with all my heart if you are looking for a quiet place, away from tourists, with endless views, in historic yet updated buildings, that serves amazing food and wine, and treats you like family. Longing to return!
