Annunziata is a hamlet built 1.2 miles upon sea level in an enchanting position facing the island of Capri and on the Gulf of Naples. The town and the walls were rebuilt many times and still today there are the ruins of the buildings destroyed in XVI century. In the hamlet there is Villa Rossi, now famous because the King of Naples Gioacchino Murat controlled the siege of Capri by the English navy from there and later he received the signed surrender by the Admiral Hudson Lowe, who gave Capri back to the Kingdom of Naples.
